Jen Millner, LCPC

Jen helps people understand who they are in order to become who they want to be. By gaining insight and increasing self-awareness, she helps people identify and resolve unhealthy patterns and overcome obstacles to growth. Jen is known for her genuine, honest nature and her compassionate, nurturing presence. She creates safety, trust, and an authentic connection with each unique individual. Her clients appreciate her combination of acceptance, insight, empathy, and directness, and her ability to gently challenge them to reach their goals.

Jen specializes in working with young and older adults struggling with relational issues, life transitions, and identity concerns, as well as depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss. She utilizes an integrated approach to therapy based on psychodynamic, interpersonal, experiential, and attachment-based principles, as well as mindfulness techniques.

For those who are interested, Jen also offers Walking Therapy. Depending on your therapy goals, getting outdoors and literally moving forward can act as a powerful agent for growth, healing, and change. Walking often promotes deeper insight, clarity of thought, and transformational shifts that may help people process and resolve emotional challenges.

Jen earned a MS in Mental Health Counseling from Montana State University. She completed her training at Counseling and Psychological Services at MSU and continued on as a staff therapist, while also running her own private practice.

Jen moved to Bozeman in 1996 and has been exploring ever since. When not in the office, she can usually be found skiing, hiking, floating, and otherwise enjoying the mountains and rivers of Montana. She firmly believes in nature as nourishment for the body, mind, and spirit.
