Depression Treatment in Bozeman, MT
Depression can be treated. Get help to find your way out of stuck patterns and feelings of hopelessness and despair.
Feeling down, blue, or in the dumps is something that most people experience a number of times throughout the course of their lives. When these feelings last from a few hours to a few days, they are likely to be normal and natural reactions to life’s difficulties. When feelings of being down or depressed persist for more than a few weeks and are “stuck,” that is, when the person can’t find a way to return themselves to a normal mood, they may be suffering from depression. Depression is typically accompanied by several of the following symptoms: low energy, lack of motivation, irritability, feeling hopeless, feeling worthless, lacking enjoyment in normally joyful activities or events, changes in appetite, and even suicidal thoughts or feelings.
People can become depressed for many reasons, and understanding what is causing or maintaining the depression is often an important part of treatment. For example, depression can be linked to conscious or unconscious feelings of shame, thoughts and feelings such as “I’m bad,” “I’m a failure,” or “I don’t fit in.” Depression can also be linked to unresolved grief; substance addiction; relationship issues; low self-esteem; trauma, and other difficulties.
